Our Story
At Sileco, our story began with a moment of insight during one of Grace Diprose's international trips. As a frequent traveler, Grace relied on plastic Ziploc bags to store personal items in her handbag—simple, disposable, but not durable.
After repeatedly throwing away worn-out bags, she had a lightbulb moment: Why wasn’t there a better, more sustainable solution for people on the go? A volumized, reusable bag with a secure airtight seal that could store liquids without leaking, and last beyond just a few uses.
More Consciousness, Less Waste
Back home, Grace became even more conscious of the daily plastic waste she and her family generated, especially after moving into an apartment complex without a bin chute, requiring frequent trips to the dumpster. This sparked her commitment to reducing waste. While she often reused single-use plastic bags, Grace envisioned a solution that was not only functional but safe, durable, and environmentally responsible.
"I wanted something compact, lightweight, and reusable that fits my minimalist lifestyle," Grace recalls. "A multifunctional solution that works whether you're home or on the go."
In 2020, amid the challenges of the pandemic and becoming a mother, Grace launched Sileco. As she began thinking about her son's future, she was inspired to create products that contribute to a better world—less waste, more sustainability. What began with the idea of a reusable Ziploc bag has evolved into a full collection of 100% LFGB-certified premium silicone portable lightweight cookware containers, perfect for those who value healthy eating, space-saving organisation, and environmental responsibility.
