Sileco was born from a question Grace couldn't stop asking herself: Why isn't there a better way to store the home cooking and things we care about - without harming our health or the planet?

Like a lot of us, Grace hated the guilt that came with throwing away yet another plastic bag or container after just one use. It felt so wasteful. So she did what many well-meaning people do—she started washing them out and using them again. And again. She'd pack her lunch in the same Ziploc bag for weeks, reheat leftovers in containers that had seen better days, and tell herself she was doing her part for the environment.

But somewhere along the way, a nagging thought crept in. These bags and containers weren't made for this. They weren't designed to be washed, refilled, and reheated over and over. The plastic grew thin and cloudy. It warped in the microwave. And Grace started to wonder - what exactly was seeping into her food every time she reused something that was only ever meant to be used once?

That's when it hit her. She was standing in her kitchen, staring down at yet another worn-out, sad little plastic bag - one she'd already reused more times than she probably should have - and she thought: This shouldn't be the choice. Why do I have to pick between wasting less and staying healthy?

That moment stuck with her. Because the answer isn't to keep stretching the life of something never built to last. The answer is to build something better from the start and durable enough to reuse for years, safe enough to trust with every meal, and kind enough to the planet that you never have to choose between the two again.
